If you want to go quickly, go alone. If you want to go far, go together. ~ African proverb
Some would say that’s where it all started. Africa.
The headquarters of life situated on the world’s second behemoth continent. As if that wasn’t impressive enough, Africa has birthed some of the world’s most captivating and ruthlessly ambitious civilisations and swells with natural beauty in the form of stunning landscapes and precious minerals.
The years haven’t been kind to this continent though, Africa has been fighting an uphill battle against oppression, fighting for independence and freedom from foreign empires, disease, poverty and the corruption that still unfortunately exists in some modern African governments. Why, despite Africa’s past and current achievements, is this continent so far behind and domestic to some of the world’s poorest countries?
As an African myself, I believe it to be the next Frontier, Africa is the new challenge and many are willing to accept. A younger, restless and more ambitious generation labour and campaign for change in the form philanthropic and business ventures, creating the latest innovations in tech and encouraging the rest of the world to believe in the power of Africa and the power of the 1 billion minds that reside there.
I hope that this blog, Kult Afrika, though humble now, will serve as platform for activists, business people, social entrepreneurs, fellow bloggers and the next generation of Africans who want to bring about change, betterment and a sustainable revolution to Africa. This is about a vision, a shared goal that can be achieved by blogging, campaigning, sharing ideas, crowdsourcing and starting a powerful new movement.
It’s time for impact.
